Hey, so I'm doing the new and improved Yogspets challenge! Yeah, it involves my OC and my friend's OC. Yeah, it sucks. Oh well! Try to enjoy it!

    Summer. What can I say about summer? Well, besides the fact that it could kill me in half a minute, it's actually pretty nice. The flowers and plants in the plains biome go into full bloom, adorable baby animals and mobs come out and play in the sunshine, and barely anyone has any work to do! Well, besides Xephos, but honestly, when doesn't he work? Besides him, everyone has enough time to pay me a visit in my snow biome, so it makes it less lonely.

    Oh, speaking of my home, the worst part of summer is that I gotta stay in my own little piece of the world, because one step across the biome borders results in a giant puddle of water where my foot used to be! Yeah, it's not perfect, but nothing really is perfect, is it?

    Besides, I always have company, and it's mostly from my best friend in the ENTIRE universe, Renn. Sure, sometimes she can be a bit of a downer, but that's what I'm here for: to cheer her up! Plus, she knows when and how to calm me down when I get a bit TOO energetic. We just sorta clicked, and we've basically been inseparable ever since.

    Yeah, summer was alright. But there was one summer I would never forget.

~~~~----~~~~
    I was sitting in my favorite tree, which was the tallest one in the entire forest. I was looking out at the scenery before me: long, green plains, endless oceans, and the shadows and outlines of tall buildings and castles. Renn was a few branches below me, but she wasn't paying much attention to the landscape. Instead she was fiddling with a stick she had found, twirling it and hitting it against the trunk.
    I looked down at her and sighed slightly. "You know you don't have to stay up here if you're bored," I called down to her. She looked up at me with her dark brown eyes.
    "Nah," she replied, her voice slightly muffled due to the black scarf that hid her mouth. "There's nothing to do down there either, so I might as well stay here." I rolled my eyes and smiled.
    "Alrighty then!" I said cheerfully. Renn chuckled slightly on response as I looked back towards the landscape. As I gazed, I noticed a small figure walking towards the snow biome. Curious, I climbed down the tree a few branches and peered down, getting a better view. He had messy blonde hair that was slightly held back with a pair of round lab goggles, and he wore a pristine white lab coat. The man noticed me staring at him and he looked up, grinning as his green eyes seemed to sparkle.
    "Lalna!" I cried out, startling Renn a bit. Jumping out of the tree, I shot ice beams from my hands, aiming towards the ground. Once they made their marks, the pressure from the beams caused me to slow my rate of falling until my heeled boots touched the snowy ground. Renn had also made it to the ground, swinging from each tree branch until reaching the lowest one, jumping down and landing on her feet.
    I ran up to Lalna and hugged him tightly. He returned the hug slightly, then choked out, "I'm glad to see you, Kutey, but do you think you could let go before I lose oxygen?"
    Quickly, I let go and smiled sheepishly. Renn walked up next to me and waved at Lalna.
    "Hey," she said simply. He returned the gesture with a small smile. He then turned back to me, his face turning serious.
    "I need you to come with me to the lab." he said. I gave him a confused stare. "Um," I hesitated, "right now? Because I don't know if you've noticed or not, but it's the middle of summer...and I'm ice, so..."
    Lalna reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a red vial of liquid. "Don't worry," he replied. "I've got it all taken care of. Here." He then handed me the vial. Renn and I looked at it, puzzled as to what it was. It looked like some sort of potion, but I've never seen one like this before.
    "What is it exactly?" Renn asked. Lalna replied, "It's a heat resistance potion. It will cause the consumer to be able to withstand the hottest of temperatures. I created it myself!" He exclaimed the last part proudly, putting his fists on his hips.
    Still cautious to this new liquid, I took a quick sniff. Immediately, I regretted my decision and pulled back in disgust.
    "It smells like dirty socks mixed with cow manure!" I gagged, trying hard not to throw up right there. Lalna chuckled as his cheeks flushed a bright shade of pink.
    "Yeah...it's kinda still a work in progress. Just drink it so we can go; it's a bit of an emergency." I sighed, plugging my nose and taking one large swig of the potion. For a moment everything was normal. Then, a burning sensation erupted in my stomach. It quickly spread throughout my entire body, reaching my fingertips, my toes, everywhere. It was kind of painful, so my body tensed while the burning spread. Once it was over I loosened up, feeling warm all over my body.
    "How do you feel?" Lalna asked, a bit nervous as to how his creation worked.
    "I feel...strangely warm," I replied, a bit surprised I wasn't melting right there. Lalna smiled brightly.
    "That means it's working!" he cried out, pumping a fist in the air. He then motioned for Renn and I to follow him, to which we shrugged and trailed behind him.
~~~~----~~~~

    After a lot of walking (with me using my ice powers to fly most of the time), we finally reached the destination: Lalna's Castle. I was accustomed to the environment in Tekkitopia, but for some reason this place always made me a bit uncomfortable. Renn looked about the same as me, staring at the tall castle with unease. We entered the castle and passed through the courtyard, with Lalna leading us to a tall tower with many, many, MANY floors. After about five minutes of climbing stairs, we reached the top, exhausted and gasping for breath. But for some reason, Lalna was perfectly fine!

    "Hey," Renn called out in disbelief and slight anger. "You're...not even...tired!" She had to take deep breaths between most of her words. Lalna merely shrugged at the two of us.

    "I guess I'm just more used to it than you guys." he replied nonchalantly. Before Renn could come back at him with a retort, Lalna walked over to a diamond chest and opened it up wide. Out of curiosity, I went over it, with Renn following close behind. Lalna pointed into the chest, telling us to look in.

    Inside the chest made of diamond were three large eggs, each one with different patterns and symbols on them. The first one was a khaki green, with darker shades of it made into three stripes that wrapped along the width of the egg. There were small details on it that made it look almost like bamboo reeds. The second egg was cherry red. All around it, there were strange symbols and lines that were the color of oak planks. It almost looked foreign, but not from any place I could identify. The final one was a nice chocolate brown color. There were light brown dashes that form curvy lines on it, almost like paths on a map or trails in dirt.

    I studied them, analyzing each and every detail. "They're pretty cool," I said after a while. Renn nodded her head in agreement. "Yeah, but what are they?"

    Lalna pulled out the red one and held it up. "These are what I call Yogpet Eggs. They're of my invention, and one of my best ones, at that!"

    As soon as he mentioned the name, I perked up a bit. "I remember something like that! I think I got one for my birthday last year from Rythian." Lalna nodded and smiled.

    "Exactly, only back then they were just prototypes. Speaking of that, whatever did happen to that egg anyways?"

    ~Flashback~
    A zombie was licking his lips, with tiny pieces of purple egg shell near his lips.
    ~End of Flashback~

    "Um...it...rolled away?" I said, trying to sound as convincing as possible. Both Lalna and Renn gave me suspicious and skeptical looks, but shrugged it off.

    "So what's the emergency exactly?" Renn asked, bringing us back to our previous topic. Lalna nodded and continued, "Yes, well, these new eggs are an improvement off the prototypes, and they work like a charm. What you didn't know about the eggs is that each egg can produce three different Yogpets, which depends either on their environment or how they're cared for. They are also created to fight incase of battle, so they're pretty handy to have around, as well as great for company. But unfortunately, someone realized how powerful the eggs could truly be when tampered with, so they stole all of them from me just last night. Luckily I had woken up just as he was escaping and I tried to fight him off, but we accidentally bumped into my portal gun. That caused it to go haywire and shoot portals all over Tekkitopia, and the eggs fell into the portal that had previously been made. The only ones I could save were these three. I bet the other eggs are out there somewhere, but I just don't know where exactly."

    "Okay..." I said slowly after hearing Lalna's story. "But where do I come in?" Lalna smirked at me, and held the three Yogpet Eggs in front of me.

    "I need you to take these," he said. I was shocked, and I could tell Renn was as well. "But I don't understand," I spluttered out, barely lost for words. "Why do I need to take them?"

    "I have a feeling the person who tried to steal the eggs is looking for them as well, and I also know that he managed to save some eggs as well. I need you to go out into the world and recover all of my eggs before they do, and those eggs will help you if you come across enemies. I'm not exactly sure how they'll hatch, but I'm sure you can figure it out."

    I glanced over at Renn, who seemed a bit pissed since she didn't have any eggs. "Don't worry, Renn," Lalna said before she could freak out. "The first three eggs you find you can keep for yourself, okay?" Renn sighed and nodded in content.

    Lalna then handed me a large leather bag, saying I could put the eggs in there for now until they hatched. He also gave me a bunch of heat resistance potions, to which I wasn't really pleased about. He then told me that the world wasn't all snow and ice and that I'd melt out there without the potions.

    Well, he was right, I guess...

    After a few minutes of goodbyes and helpful tips, Renn and I made our way out of the castle, the gates closing with a loud "SLAM!!"

    We stood there for a while, just watching the sun slowly sink in the horizon. Finally, Renn broke the silence.

    "So, what now?" I looked at her and smiled. "We walk, I guess." Even though I couldn't see her mouth behind her scarf, I could tell she was smiling too. Then, I gave her a mischievous grin and ran off at full speed, yelling and laughing into the air, "ADVENTUUURRREEE!!!"

    I heard Renn running after me, shouting, "KUTEY, I SWEAR TO GOD!!" And with that, we ran off into the adventure of a lifetime.
So I've decided to take part in :iconhiiragi-wasabi:'s Yogpets Reprise! I was actually really happy to see this get rebooted, so of course I had to participate!
